Mountain Man Dasrath Manjhi

Dasrath Manjhi is a farmer from India. His wife Falguni Devi fell ill one day and ultimately died because the hospital was too far away. It was 70 km far due to an enormous mountain between his village and the hospital.His wife's death changed him a lot as he spent the next 22 years of his life digging through the mountain to make a path for the rest of his village people so that no one would face the same fate like his wife did.

He worked day and night for 22 years and made a 360 feet long, 30 feet high and 25 feet wide passage through the Gehlour hills with just hammer, chisel and nails and reduced the distance of 70 km to just 1 km from his village to the hospital.Due to his unbelievable work the Government has named that road as Dasrath Manjhia Road and they are even making a movie based on his life story. And he passed away on 2007.
