Bleduk Kuwu is a crater of mud ( mud volcano ) located in the village of Kuwu , District Kradenan , Grobogan Regency , Central Java Province in Indonesia.According to the story hereditary circulating among the local community, Bleduk * Kuwu occurs because of the holes that connect the area with the South Sea (Indian Ocean). It is said that the hole was way back Joko daze from the South Seas to the kingdom Medang Kamulan after defeating the King of Gods Cengkar which have turned into white alligator in the South Seas.
Visitors can watch the geyser from a distance of between 10 meters and 20 meters. The eruptions of water and mud shift positions from time to time, but there are two spots where the geyser regularly erupts. The locals call the one in the east Mbah (Grandpa) Jokotua and the one in the west Mbah (Grandma) Rodenok.

People who lives near this site make money by selling salt to visitors. The salt is harvested from volcanic sediment that is dried in an open field.The natural phenomenon is caused by the release of gas, usually methane, from inside the earth bed.
